Banco Mediolanum Guitar BCN: Deacon Blue
Deacon Blue are delighted to announce 15 shows across the UK and Ireland in October 2027 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Raintown. They will perform their iconic debut album in full, alongside many other songs. Tickets go on sale at 9:00 a.m. on 18 September 2026 via livenation.co.uk.
Ricky Ross said: “When we made our first record, none of us imagined there would still be an audience wanting to hear it live forty years later. Recreating the songs and atmosphere of that debut album will be a great joy for us. Raintown will form the first part of each show, while the second will feature songs from across all our albums. We want every night to be a unique experience. We’re thrilled that you’re still here to share another adventure with us, and we can’t wait to come to a city near you in 2027.”
Deacon Blue have built a legacy of powerful, uplifting songs, and their creative journey continues to this day. Their latest album, The Great Western Road, reached number three on the UK charts. Their roots, however, lie in Raintown. Released in 1987, their debut album will take centre stage on next year’s extensive 40th anniversary tour.
The songs on Raintown quickly won over fans and remain favourites today: Dignity, When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring), Chocolate Girl, Loaded and many more. Raintown is certified platinum, as are the two albums that followed it.
