Djeliah – “The Sun Is Rising”

“The Sun is Rising” is the second album by French singer-songwriter Djeliah. Blending jazz, soul, funk, reggae and afrobeat, the project draws inspiration from artists such as Nina Simone, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and Erykah Badu, resulting in a contemporary sound deeply rooted in ancestral traditions.

Recorded organically in Chapada Diamantina, Brazil, and produced by Gustavo Filograsso and Pablo Rosas, the album features a collaboration with Momi Maiga on the track “Mama África”. Its songs explore themes of spirituality, freedom and collective consciousness, establishing Djeliah as a distinctive voice within the independent music scene.
