For obvious reasons, bassist Kyle Eastwood’s career has been closely linked to film, combining composing soundtracks for his father Clint Eastwood’s movies (such as Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, and Letters From Iwo Jima) with his own career as a jazz musician, primarily leading his quintet. Eastwood by Eastwood is the show that encapsulates this dual aspect of Kyle Eastwood’s artistic life: the fusion of jazz-infused interpretations of iconic soundtracks associated with his father—by composers such as Ennio Morricone, Lennie Niehaus, Lalo Schifrin, and John Williams—and original music created by Kyle specifically for his quintet.
