Grec Festival de Barcelona 2023: Luisa Sobral + Lucía Fumero + Rita Payés

They are women, they are young and they have become sound references for the new generations of jazz and song lovers. They do not stop getting involved in projects like the one that now makes them go on stage together.
Possibly you will have already been lucky enough to listen, for example, at the Teatre Grec during the last La Mercè Festival, to Lucia Fumero and Rita Payés, a pianist and a trombonist, among other things, with voices that breathe complicity on stage. They have their own career as soloists or leaders of their formations, but they are always willing to put their ability to understand themselves musically to the test with other artists who stimulate them. That is why they have enthusiastically accepted to add to their voices and musical talents those of Luísa Sobral, a Portuguese singer-songwriter who is especially known as the creator of Amar pelos dois, which her brother Salvador performed at Eurovision in 2017. But Luísa is much more than a single song and has a long career that began in 2003. With voice, guitar and sometimes the harp, he interprets songs from genres that go from alternative music to pop, passing through jazz and soul. At the end of 2022, Luísa released DanSando, a full-length full of luminous songs that talk about love.
With her, a Lucia Fumero who is the daughter of the Argentine jazz double bassist Horacio Fumero and who moves in a register located between jazz and folk in record works such as Universo normal (2020). A very good friendship and many common artistic concerns unite her with the trombonist Rita Payés, daughter of the guitarist Elisabeth Roma. Perhaps you know her from the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, where she was born artistically, or you have heard her play with Joan Chamorro, Ignasi Terraza, Josep Traver or Esteve Pi. Among her albums, some are as applauded as Como la piel (2021). In 2022 she participated in Salt Mortal, a collaborative project with singer and guitarist Pol Battle.
