Guillem Gisbert

After spending so many years giving voice to an entire generation — and part of the next — as the frontman of Manel, Guillem Gisbert began searching for a voice of his own with Balla la masurca!, his debut solo album, released in autumn 2024. Although experimentation and exploration have always been central to the identity of the band he shares with Roger Padilla, Martí Maymó and Arnau Vallvé, Gisbert’s transformation into the sole visible face of his own project opened up a whole new parallel dimension in his career.

Two years after the release of Balla la masurca!, Gisbert continues to search for new angles from which to approach the pop song. Increasingly colourful and, at the same time, increasingly recognisable: after all, his irony and linguistic play have long since become an inseparable part of the collective imagination of Catalan music. Guillem Gisbert will expand his distinctive musical and narrative universe with a second solo album, due for release in November, which he will present at Barcelona’s Paral·lel 62 on 4 March.
