Jeff Tweedy

Jeff Tweedy will present his new album, Twilight Override, on 12 February in Barcelona. Paral·lel 62 will host two events where his fifth solo album will share the spotlight along with several nods to Wilco’s repertoire.

When Jeff Tweedy published a book called How to Write a Song in 2020, absolutely no one was shocked. If anyone has the authority to explain how a song is made, it’s him. He has written so many throughout his life that at some point he decided to start releasing solo albums because Wilco, the band he has led for three decades, couldn’t absorb them all.

So, about to turn 60, Tweedy presents an album that explains American roots rock from three angles: his first band, Uncle Tupelo, a pioneer of alt-country; his most popular project, Wilco; and his solo career. A career in which he has always looked like the same normal guy: Tweedy is a rock star in the body of the neighbour you bump into in the hall. This genuineness acts as a counterpoint to the absolutely extraordinary ability he has always had to generate images (at times cruelly real ones, and at others magically abstract) with his music.
