LEM 2023: Markus Breuss & The Baltic Connection + UltraMega

Markus Breuss is well known by the LEM audience and a very popular name in the European improvisation and experimental scenes. Founder of bands such as the legendary Clónicos, OCQ, Faktor Bossar o Total Vibration, he also stands out as an improviser, a field of work in which he has worked with Scorecrackers and Kalimpong Trio, among others. He’s also a member of the FOCO orchestra that has collaborated with Fred Frith, for example. In this occasion, Breuss introduces us to The Baltic Connection, a free jazz ensemble where he’s accompanied by Klaudija Indriliūnaitè on guitar, Deividas Skridaila on bass and Dirk Wachtelaer on drums. A first-class international show to close the LEM Device’s landing at Paral·lel 62.

UltraMega are four musicians from Barcelona that have been involved in projects such as Una Bèstia Incontrolable, Über, Egosex or Zephyr Lake and that have imported their sound from their favourite bands as well as from the 1990s musical noise. A band that defines itself as “mentally retarded guitars, bass guitars with cardiovascular problems, drums with Tourette syndrome and a voice with serious logopedic problems”. This is what they offer. In addition to that they ensure that, for all those who want their mind to “be a suppressor”, it is a good plan to come see them live. A unique and savage show to open LEM 2023’s second Friday.
