Raquel Tavares

Raquel Tavares was born in Lisbon on January 11, 1985, and from an early age she lived with the many paths and spaces of fado. At the age of 12, she wins the Grande Noite do Fado.
At the age of 14, she published her first album, Porque canto o Fado, and a few years later a new album, Raquel Tavares. In 2008 she published her third work, Bairro, which arouses the consensus of critics, who consider it one of the best fado albums of all time.
In 2016, Raquel Tavares presents Raquel, a set of great songs and fados, which brought her immediate success and a gold award. In 2017 she recorded an album in tribute to the “King” of Brazilian music Roberto Carlos.
After a long and revitalizing break of a few months, at the beginning of 2020, she is offered to participate in various television projects.
Four years later, the yearning for the stage is stronger and she accepts the challenge of the prestigious International Fado Festival, where she had already participated in previous editions, along with names like Carlos do Carmo and Camané, among others.
